Founder, Italo Fontana attributes his inspiration for design from his own creativity and an experience from his grandfather, Ilvo Fontana. Ilvo was commissioned by the Navy to design a watch large enough to be visible in any weather or light condition. The final order for production was never given, and his plans were left preserved for more than 60 years. In 2000, Italo Fontana decided to finish the development of the U-Boat timepiece, and it has been earning appreciation from enthusiasts around the world ever since.
