Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Tantalum and 18K Rose Gold

What makes this watch special is that it was originally released as a proto-type piece and is numbered #0001 on the caseback.  This watch is made from a very special metal called tantalum.  Tantalum is not used very often by many watchmakers.  In fact, there are only  4  manufacturers who have released watches made with tantalum.  They are Audemars Piguet, Panerai, Gerald Genta and hublot.  What makes this watch so special is that this watch is numbered on the caseback #0001.  The collector whom we purchased this watch from explained to us that this watch was a prototype made for renown golfer and AP Ambassador, Nick Faldo.  This same watch was re-introduced as a Special Edition and marketed with Nick Faldo's name and signature on the caseback and came with a set of Daiwa golf clubs.  This particular watch pre-dates the release of that special edition.  This watch has a 36.5mm diameter and is slightly smaller than the Royal Oak Jumbo Automatic and Royal Oak Chronograph which are around 39.5-41mm.  This is absolutely an investment grade, collectible timepiece that would satisfy the demands and requirements of even the most discerning collector and AP enthusiast.
