The Famous Super Ocean model was introduced in 1957. The novelty and most impressive features of the orignal SuperOCean was the super legible and clear dial along with an armored glass crystal and a single piece watch case that made the watch waterproof to a depth of 200 meters (660 ft). In 1957, this was indeed a milestone.
Breitling has now redesigned the SuperOcean and fitted it with a 44mm case size and a new 'Abyss' dial offset with high visiblity orange seconds dial and dial accents. What is really cool about this watch is the new style bezel that is stainless steel with rubber inserts. This rubber-molded bezel is very cool, soft and smooth to the touch and can be rotated while underwater easily even while wearing gloves.
