With the death of Severin Wunderman, the flamboyant owner and CEO of Corum Watches in June 2008, the watch world has not been the same. Severin Wunderin, the eccentric CEO of Corum was almost singlehandedly responsibility for the rebirth and re-generation or Corum in the early 2000's starting with the release of the outrageously themed Bubble special edition watches.
Severin always considered himself a sort of 'Pirate' even though he was also a great philanthropist. The original PRIVATEER special edition Corum bubble was an inspiration of his 'alter-ego' long before Johnnie Depp and the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise made Pirates en vogue. He lived life in a big way and will be sadly missed but not forgotten. The PRIVATEER special edition XL Automatic Bubble is a tribute to his unyielding, timeless, limitless spirit, creativity and joy of life-not to mention a flash of flamboyant eccentricity....
