This is the PAM 115-F series stainless steel Marina "Destro" made in only 300 pieces for F series (2003-2004 production year). This watch has virtually disappeared from circulation and if I am lucky, I typically have an opportunity to buy 1 or 2 at most of these pieces per year. This watch is discontinued and no longer available in the current Panerai Catalog after being made for only 3 production years (E, F and G series). Total production of this watch, the PAM115 was less than 1000 pieces as this watch was made in very limited production of 300-500 pieces per year (depending on the production year). The PAM 115 Marina Destro was discontinued after the G series and replaced with the PAM 219 which is also a Destro but the 219 is a Destro 'base' which does not have a seconds indication. Additionally, the PAM 115 is CoSC chronometer certified whereas the PAM 219 replacement is not chronometer certified due to the fact that it has no seconds dial or way to measure seconds in terms of measuring accuracy of the movement.
Panerai was amongst the first watch company to release watches designed specifically for lefties; marketed and aptly nicknamed as "Destro" models which means "Right" in Italian. The reference indicating that a Destro watch is meant to be worn on the right hand. The Destro design incorporates the winding crown on the opposite side of the case where it would normally be found, the idea being a left handed person would hold their watch in their right hand, and wind it or set it with their left hand. Even so, throughout the years, Destro models have been worn and found commonplace on both left and right wrists and there are no rules, guidelines or stigma restricting wearing of the watch to a persons right hand. Moreover, people like the Destro models for their rarity, unique design, look and feel. Here is your chance to own a very rare, seldom seen Destro Marina with see thru caseback, 1 of only 300 pieces made for F series.
