THIS IS AN INCREDIBLY RARE AND HARD TO FIND PANERAI -- IT IS ESTIMATED THAT LESS THAN 250 OF THESE WATCHES EXIST!!!

The E series 40MM Luminor Chronograph was made for the 2002-2003 production year, but the watch was not actually released until 2004 and some PAM122's did not make it to dealers' stores until as late as 2005, due to difficulty and sparse inventories of the Zenith 'el Primero' movement which is the heart and guts of this watch. What makes the PAM122 so special and rare is that even though the watch is numbered on the case back in an edition of 1500 pieces, it is widely believed that there are less than 250 of these pieces in circulation. This is due to the fact that once Zenith was acquired by mega conglomerate LVMH, they refused to sell its movements to any watch companies not owned by parent company LVMH. This announcement forced Panerai to discontinue production of the 40mm chronograph series with Zenith Movement (PAM72/74/121/122) essentially prior even to the actual release of the PAM121/122 models.
