Panerai PAM 186 H - Luminor Arktos GMT - 44mm Stainless Steel (As New)

Panerai Arktos PAM 186 - is to commemorate Mike Horn's 20,000 mile trek across the Antartic. Horn's Arktos epedition tested his Panerai watch under the most extreme critical conditions during circumnavigation of the Arctic Circle. Only 500 pcs. were made upon the successful conclusion of the adventure.

THERE ARE TWO ARKTOS WATCHES - PAM 92 and PAM 186...The biggest difference between PAM 92 Arktos and PAM186 Arktos GMT is the GMT function on the PAM 186.  In fact, that is what makes the PAM 186 more desirable and the better seller between the two.  PAM 92 is special edition, and what that means is that it comes in the huge oversized special edition box with special edition certificate individually numbered to match the watch.  The PAM 186 was only made for one year in 500 pieces as well but doesn't come in special edition box, but rather with regular edition box.  So that is the big difference.  From a perspective of potential apprecation and collectiblity, if both were available, I would suggest that the PAM 186 GMT Arktos is infinitely more desirably, more rare and more collectible than PAM 92.  Additionally, Mike Horn, the guy for whom the Arktos watches were made, stopped midway on his circum-navigation of the arctic circle due to frostbite, took a break and asked Panerai to give him a watch with GMT function.  He actually ended up completing the expedition with the PAM 186 Arktos GMT on his wrist...not the PAM 92.
