This was my first premium watch purchase. I took more than a year looking at a variety of watchmakers, finally settling on Panerai. I made many visits to Panerai's boutiques to further explore my options.
I finally settled on PAM 190, which meant that I had to navigate the world of used watch resellers. I should note that my day job is vetting out investments by performing due diligence investigations, so I may have been a little more rigorous than the average buyer, but I wanted to be sure that I was buying the best condition watch at the best price.
I found what looked like the perfect watch on a well known reseller (not watchuwant). After asking a few specific questions about the watch, and not receiving answers quickly or at all, I did more research. I found that this identical watch was being sold by another reseller at a lower price; the listing I had found was essentially a resale of a resale with a markup. I quickly abandoned buying that watch, which brought me to watchuwant.
Watchuwant had two PAM190s available. They could answer every question I had because (1) they have sold Panerai for quite a while and (2) they actually had the watch in stock. Their price was better than all my other options. My watch quickly arrived exactly as described. I couldn't be happier.
This story may be old news to experienced watch collectors, but I thought that other buyers may benefit from knowing what I learned, and trusting that a purchase from Watchuwant will get you exactly what you are seeking to buy at a fair price.
